What is a scullery? A scullery is a room in a house near the primary kitchen, traditionally used for washing up dishes and laundering clothes, or as an overflow kitchen. Today, it is becoming more and more popular due to the overflow of bulky counter-type appliances that clutter counter space and are usually unsightly with use. The scullery has also become popular as a Caterer's Kitchen for larger houses that have food brought in for parties and gatherings. This way the main kitchen can remain as always the place where most people congregate.
